After Ryan Garcia defeated Oscar Duarte in his last fight, he immediately called out Rolando Romero. As Romero currently possessed the WBA Super Lightweight title, Garcia wanted to face ‘Rolly’ to have a shot at a world title. On that note, Garcia even trained with Floyd Mayweather as well recently.
However, while boxing fans expected Ryan Garcia vs. Romero, in an unprecedented turn of events, Rolando Romero ended up sealing a deal with ‘Pitbull’. As a result, he took to social media and jabbed at rival Ryan Garcia with his stinging words. Here is what happened.

Rolando Romero continues to be a pain to Ryan Garcia
While ‘Rolly’ vs. Garcia was being discussed by the fans, the promoter of Isaac Cruz had recently announced that ‘KingRy’ would likely return to the ring in April against ‘Pitbull’. In his opinion, since styles made fights, it was appropriate that Garcia met Cruz in the ring. However, a few days back, Rolando Romero took to X and announced he was in the process of fighting Cruz. And today, after it was confirmed that ‘Rolly’ will face Cruz this March, the WBA Super Lightweight champion fired shots against ‘KingRy’.

Taking to X, the 28-year-old said, “@RyanGarcia go fight a tequila bottle and some xannies in April.” In another tweet, Rolando Romero implied that he was always ahead of ‘KingRy’ in the sport. “Ryan always thought it was GarciaRomero when in reality it was always RomeroGarcia,” he said.

Anyway, in this context, it shall be mentioned that Rolando Romero vs. Cruz has been scheduled for March 30. In this fight, Cruz will return after a victory over Giovanni Cabrera, a contest in which he won the WBO Latino Lightweight title. Additionally, with a record of 25-2-1, he will likely give ‘Rolly’ a run for the money. Meanwhile, Ryan Garcia took to social media and reacted to the announcement of ‘Rolly’ vs. Cruz.
‘KingRy’ claims he was lied to about the Cruz fight
While Rolando Romero celebrated the fact that he landed a contest with Isaac Cruz, Ryan Garcia declared on X that he was informed a match between him and Romero was being finalized. However, he stated it was a lie. “Look I was informed the deal was finalizing and it would be announced in the coming days. Obviously, That was a lie,” wrote ‘KingRy’.
