Ryan Garcia, Jake Paul, and Boxing World Reacts to Uvalde, Texas School Shooting

On Tuesday, an eighteen-year-old armed with a loaded rifle broke into an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas. Identified as Salvador Ramos, a resident of Uvalde, the perpetrator shot at students, staff, and other officials present in the school. As a result, in a devastating update, twenty-one ended up losing their lives, including nineteen innocent kids.

The disheartening news has covered the rest of the world with clouds of mourning and tears. As much as the report enrages and breaks the hearts of people, it raises questions about the security of civilians in public institutes such as schools.

As the news broke in, athletes and renowned personalities in sports took to Twitter and spoke of their minds. Garcia, Paul, Serrano, and others expressed their condolences and wrote about how the situations made them altogether feel.

Besides his thoughts and prayers, Jake Paul commented on how, in his opinion, the people in power have done nothing to protect the kids of America.

“My thoughts and prayers go out to the families, kids, and citizens of Uvalde, Texas. This s**t is so unfair. It’s sickening what people are capable of and it makes me sick that our schools, senators, and people in power have done NOTHING to protect the kids of America,Jake Paul wrote.

Garcia expressed how sad he was. Besides prayers of healing, he invited all to come together in a search of a solution.

He wrote, “I’m so sad and I’m hurting for hearts in Texas where the shooting occurred. I don’t understand what causes someone to do such a horrific thing. We need to come together to find a solution to stop and prevent these things from happening. Prayers of healing to all the families.”

Amanda Serrano, who headlined a boxing match against Katie Taylor, wrote, “My heart breaks for the kids and the teacher who lost their lives today in Uvalde, Texas. We are better than this. We have to do better for the children, for the innocent, for America.”

Concerning the safety of schoolchildren, Claressa Shields felt the need for installing metal detectors and armed security on every existing school campus.

She wrote, “ALL SCHOOLS NEED METAL DETECTORS & ARMED SECURITY ! These murders, mass shootings, attacks are so unbearable! 14 kids dead in Texas and a teacher 🥺🥺🥺 pray for the families affected but also AMERICA NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING TO PREVENT THIS HAPPENING IN THE FUTURE!”

Ebanie Bridges expressed her disappointment and wrote a direct message to the lawmakers in America.

“America really needs to change their damn gun laws. It’s ridiculous,” tweeted the American boxer.

Michelle Joy Phelps and Hall of Fame Lou DiBella share their words of frustration

The boxing reporter, Michelle Joy Phelps, condemned the horrific act and wrote the following to her dismay.

“It takes a special type of ugly & evil to hurt children. My heart aches for the families affected right now. Evil is running rampant on our children these days🥺.”

Lou DiBella joined the community and offered his words to the world.

“Our world seems so hopelessly fucked up right now. It’s all so sad. So sorry for everyone feeling pain and loss from today’s tragic shooting in #Texas, he wrote.

Reportedly, the school was only two days away from summer break when the fatal incident took place on Tuesday.
