Ryan Garcia Reveals Next Fight: “It’s No Secret”

Ryan Garcia is making headlines once again for teasing his in-ring return. The lightweight star is rumored to be coming back to action shortly and has a bundle of names from which he can pick his next opponent. However, he isn’t facing someone from the list of call-outs from a few months back. Hence, Garcia probably won’t fight for a world title next and is more likely to compete for the WBC interim lightweight title again.
Despite winning the strap against Luke Campbell in January, ‘KingRy’ lost it due to inactivity. He walked away from a scheduled fight against Javier Fortuna and was replaced by Joseph Diaz. As Diaz won the bout and the WBC Interim strap in July, he is who Garcia might be considering getting in the ring with next.

Ryan Garcia has claimed to be in talks with ‘JoJo’ Diaz’s team via social media, potentially revealing him as his next rival. Although the reports are yet not official, a scrap between ‘KingRy’ and ‘JoJo’ looks favorable to happen at this stage. Both men have been winning showdowns for several years and are eyeing a title shot next. Hence, they can lock horns.

The winner of the fight can aim for a chance at the WBC world lightweight title, which is currently held by ‘The Dream’ Devin Haney. The potential fight will clearly be one of the most important ones at 135 if it takes place. Although Garcia will step up as an undefeated fighter between the two, Joseph Diaz has all the tools to overpower the 23-year-old. Here’s a preview of the fan-favorite matchup.

32-1-1- as a professional, Diaz has more experience than Ryan Garcia and has been active in recent years. Following his sole loss to Garry Russel Jr. in 2018, ‘JoJo’ is now 6-0-1 in his last seven fights. So, no one shall overlook him as an opponent. Having a 4” height and 6” reach advantage, Ryan Garcia can possibly monitor his shots in the fight. Furthermore, his rapid movements can complement the physique in an even better fashion. In an active career of 21-0, Garcia has won 18 of them via KOs, which is significantly higher than Diaz’s 15 KOs in 31 wins.
