Oscar De La Hoya responds to Ryan Garcia’s recent behavior
In an exclusive interview with Manouk Akopyan, Oscar De La Hoya talked about his ongoing feud with his longtime pugilist Ryan Garcia. It has taken some vivid turns, especially after the harsh statements of Ryan Garcia directed towards Bernard Hopkins and Oscar De La Hoya. However, ‘Golden Boy’ believes Garcia is under bad influence and that’s the reason behind his behavior.
De La Hoya said, “I know for a fact that Ryan is being advised wrong. I know for a fact that Ryan is being fed wrong information. I do not understand what Ryan has against us after we told him not to take the Tank fight on their terms. And he went against our word, you know, meaning the rehydration clause, meaning he took less percentage.” Moreover, he also admitted that besides his absence from the presser, Garcia had no reason to be mad about it.
So he stated, “We built him from the bottom-up, that’s why I just do not understand what is going on other than he has bad advice. He has too many whispers in his ear.” As of now, Ryan Garcia is quite frustrated about his contract with Golden Boy Promotions and has given his response to Hopkins’ misunderstanding.
