Shakur Stevenson Announces New Nickname; Shares Amazing Sparring Clip Aiming June Comeback

Since Shakur Stevenson‘s last performance against Edwin De Los Santos did not impress several fans, it is expected that the fighter from Newark would soon make a stronger comeback and prove his doubters wrong. However, in January this year, Shakur Stevenson temporarily shocked the boxing world when he announced he was hanging his gloves. But, later he took to X and informed the fans that he was planning to return in June this year.

Following this announcement, Stevenson today disclosed his new nickname. In addition, he shared an old but impressive sparring clip. From a critical perspective, in the clip. Stevenson displayed quickness, patience, and speed.

Shakur Stevenson turns into his “killer” form

Taking to Instagram, in one of his stories, the WBC Lightweight title holder shared a brief sparring clip. The video begins with Shakur, in a southpaw stance, pushing his sparring partner to the corner. As his partner is against the ropes, Stevenson hits the former with a lead hook followed by an uppercut. Right after the uppercut rattled Shakur’s partner, the 26-year-old threw and landed a straight left hand on the face. This led Shakur’s sparring partner to bend down and avoid a hook.

At this, despite finding his partner in a defensive position, Shakur remained patient. However, as soon as the partner circled, Shakur threw a straight hand. But, soon Stevenson was against the ropes too. Additionally, he let his partner throw and land a combination. However, just when the partner went for a huge left hook, Stevenson ducked and let the former miss.
