In the second round of their fight, Sebastian Fundora accidentally landed an elbow on Tim Tszyu’s head which left a gaping wound on the Australian boxer’s head. According to cut-man, Jacob Duran, due to the severity of the cut, the fight should have been stopped before the fifth round. However, Tszyu continued with his injury and fought till the end. In this connection, one must mention that Shakur is not the only one who feels Tim Tszyu deserves a rematch against Sebastian Fundora. Fundora’s manager Sampson Lewkowicz who had verbally promised Tszyu a rematch, said, “I wish to make it clear that Team Fundora will honour the agreement. My word is always equal to a signed contract. Tim Tszyu, your rematch is ready when you are.” But, the WBO ordered Fundora to face Terence Crawford.

Why Tszyu may not get the rematch against Fundora
After Sebastian Fundora beat Tim Tszyu, the WBO asked Team Fundora and Terence Crawford to begin negotiations for a mandatory Super-Welterweight fight. As per the letter by the WBO, Fundora and Crawford have until April 25 to come to an agreement for the match. On that note, it is very likely that ‘Bud’ Crawford will face Fundora next. However, on the other hand, Eddie Hearn felt Fundora vs. Crawford would not happen as ‘Bud’ was not with the PBC.

In his opinion, unless the PBC can “capture Crawford” ‘Bud’ vs. ‘The Towering Inferno’ will not take place. “I think you’ll either see Fundora against Tszyu or Fundora against Spence,” Hearn had said.
