‘TBE’ was a self-given title. And to this day, the boxing community runs into a debate in a panel discussion about Floyd Mayweather and ‘TBE.’ While some readily refuse to accept ‘TBE’ on the same page with Mayweather, some believe Mayweather has done enough to earn and justify his title.

In 2018, after Claressa Shields became the new unified WBA, IBF, and WBC middleweight champion, she proclaimed herself to be the “greatest woman boxer of all time.” Like Mayweather, her title was also self-imposed.
