Asia Smith, a 32-year-old rising star in the local boxing community, tragically lost her life in a car crash just a day before Thanksgiving. The news of her passing has left her friends, family, and the entire boxing community of Euclid, Ohio, mourning the loss of an extremely talented and promising athlete. 

Her identical twin sister, Latasha, shared how proud she was of Asia’s accomplishments. The dozens of medals and plaques displayed in their home were a testament to Asia’s hard work and dedication. The tragedy has left her family and fans heartbroken. How did the mishap happen?

Asia Smith’s passing has left her family devastated

On that terrible Wednesday, a day before Thanksgiving, Latasha tragically lost her sister in a car crash, leaving the entire family devastated. The shock and grief were extremely overwhelming for the Smith family. Latasha, still in disbelief, shared how Asia was happily playing with the kids at her house before she suddenly had to leave. Little did they know that it would be the final goodbye.

Smith’s achievements in the boxing ring were nothing short of remarkable. Her success was not only limited to the boxing ring but also extended into her personal life. Recently married to the love of her life, Asia was eight weeks pregnant when the mishap occurred.

“She was like eight weeks, and happy to become a new mom and I was excited for her. Now that she’s not here I have to smile to keep from crying,” said Latasha. Her loved ones are still grappling with the reality of her absence, finding it difficult to come to terms with such a tragic loss.

Smith’s sister believes that her niece can continue her victorious legacy

Despite the pain, Latasha remains hopeful that Asia’s legacy will live on through Latasha’s daughter, Brandi, who she coached. Brandi, who is 11, is already preparing for a life in the boxing ring. She hopes that she’ll be able to honor the memory of her aunt through her victories inside the ring.
