During his prime, Mike Tyson had the world in his palms. From being the youngest heavyweight champion to becoming the undisputed champion in the late 1980s, he had a successful career that launched him into the status of a legendary boxer. Born in the rough crime-ridden Brooklyn, he managed to turn his life around through boxing. Combining all the purses and endorsements, the figure he earned came to around $430 million according to Celebrity Net Worth.

However, due to his lavish lifestyle, he wasted millions on mansions, cars, jewelry, and other expensive gifts. Moreover, he even owned exotic animals such as Bengal tigers. He even hired a man dressed in fatigues to shout “Guerrilla warfare” during press conferences. With such antics, he further strayed from his passion for boxing and eventually even had to file for bankruptcy. He has also talked about the time he had to let go of $55 million as he couldn’t afford to pay his lawyers.

However, his extravagant lifestyle can be explained by his recent post. Recently, Tyson took to Instagram to share a quote of his, it went, “I was a young kid that lived big.” This quote summarizes the reason for the extraordinary determination of the champion which helped him reach the top. However, he lived a little too big and ended up in a dire situation financially. Nonetheless, the quote definitely caused a lot of waves as it surfaced on social media.
