The rivalry between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao is arguably one of the most well-known in the history of boxing. Though it was a fight that was not easy to make at all, it took years for it to come to fruition. There were already predictions for the fight to become the highest-grossing bout in the history of the sport. Moreover, that is exactly what happened, and ‘Fight of the Century’ was able to set an unprecedented record.

Although the reviews of the bout are rather mixed, even the judge’s decision of bestowing the victory to Mayweather was highly controversial. The debate still continues to this day. Some even called the bout to be boring, including Pacquiao himself. Nonetheless, the rivalry didn’t go away even after the fight. Prior to Mayweather’s exhibition bout against Mikuru Asakura, both fighters came face-to-face during a press conference.

Unsurprisingly, sparks flew everywhere as they indirectly fired shots at one another. The retired Filipino boxer had come out to support Asakura against his rival. The conference was fiery, with Mayweather stating, “When we talk about Hall-of-Famer, he’s [Pacquaio] a Hall-of-Famer, but nobody has the blueprint on how to beat Floyd Mayweather.” While the eight-division champion stated his own accomplishment countering Mayweather’s points.

He even spoke about how the best fighter should possess humility above everything else. However, in true Mayweather fashion, the American replied, “When we talk about what’s going on inside that squared circle, I’m the best, no matter how you cut it or slice it”. He ended his statement with, “There’s only one best and that’s Floyd Mayweather.

Video of Floyd Mayweather and Pacquiao going back and forth throws fans into a tizzy

As the video of the indirect back and forth between the two legends surfaced on the internet, fans went wild in reaction to the video. Even Shakur Stevenson chose to join the fans as he found himself amused by the video. One fan Olasupo Jakes wrote, “Pacman is still salty about me in his loss to Mayweather, perhaps”

Another fan, Part&Own claimed that Mayweather ducked “Winky,Kostya,Williams & fought little guys that came up from (122/Marquez & 135, 140)”. He then compared this with PacMan’s record stating, “Pacquiao fought giants started @108lbs & accomplished impossible, champ in 8weight classes!” He further added, “PAC top 10 & Floyd top 50 all time. IF same size, Pac would crush Floyd the ‘Duck’”

who added, “big floyd fan . floyd would never lose in vegas he own the red and judges . still think fight was a draw both did nothing in that fight.”

However, Raven holds quite a contrasting opinion. He claimed, “Just wanted to state the obvious fact that floyd is greater and will always be greater than manny Pacquiao”.

In the same vein, Ben claimed, “Pacquiao will always be greater than Floyd. Better wins – Pacquiao. Better achievements – Pacquiao Better fights – Pacquiao.”

Not only that but even boxing sensation Shakur Stevenson chose to join the conversation, he wrote, “Floyd crazy”.
