Canelo Alvarez is preparing for his upcoming fight against John Ryder. The fight is scheduled to happen in Alvarez’s hometown, Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. The P4P king will return to action on May 6, and a lot of fans are excited about the fight. Recently, he made an Instagram Post, where he shared a picture of him getting ready for a sparring session. Meanwhile, it is safe to that the tides have changed a bit in the boxing world after David Benavidez secured a win against a previous opponent of Alvarez, Caleb Plant.

Additionally, Benavidez has been very vocal about wanting to fight Alvarez, but there is no confirmation yet from Alvarez’s side. It’s mostly because Canelo is currently fully involved in the Ryder fight, and it is an important fight for Alvarez on a personal level. As he will be fighting in his homeland, Mexico, after 12 years, and by doing so, is about to make history in the world of boxing.

Currently, it is understandable that Canelo wouldn’t want to think of anything else. But the fans want to see Canelo Alvarez take on David Benavidez, as that will prove who’s currently the best Mexican boxer in the game. That is exactly what the fans expressed in the comments section of his latest Instagram Post.

Unfortunately, even after the Ryder fight, it wouldn’t be surprising if the clash of these to Mexican stars doesn’t come to fruition. As Alvarez’s first priority is reportedly to avenge his loss in a rematch against Dmitry Bivol after the May 6th bout.

Some fans expressed their frustration and stated how Alvarez cannot stay silent about the Benavidez fight as he defeated Plant by a unanimous decision. One fan, chefj1opez7, took a dig at Alvarez for fighting unknown fighters lately. They wrote, “Stop fighting with taxi drivers”.

One of the fans, aragontha1, stated that Alvarez cannot dodge the fight against ‘The Mexican Monster’ anymore. They wrote, “Can’t duck Benavidez any longer 👀 he’s coming“. Another fan, pretzel_ss, wrote that Alvarez will have to fight Benavidez after the May 6th bout. They wrote, “U can’t hide from benavidaz anymore . Come may5th“.
