‘Stop Trying to Sabotage This Fight’: Oscar De La Hoya’s Ultimatum Regarding Ryan Garcia vs. Gervonta Davis Infuriates Boxing World

After Ryan Garcia and Gervonta Davis finally confirmed a bout in April 2023, promoter Oscar De La Hoya recently threw an ultimatum, and if otherwise, threatened to potentially move on from Garcia vs. Davis. Following Gervonta Davis’ recent victory over Hector Luis Garcia, Ryan Garcia took to Twitter and indicated a date i.e., 15th April for Davis. While the announcement filled boxing fans with hope, De La Hoya recently imposed a “deadline” and talked about possibly abandoning Garcia vs. Davis.
It has barely even been ten days since Davis fought Luis Garcia in the ring. However, De La Hoya seems to lack patience and desires to seal a deal by the upcoming week. “I have no contract, deadline for me is Monday or I’m moving on. #DavisGarcia,” announced ‘The Golden Boy of Boxing’. Both Garcia and Davis have explicitly stated their willingness to share the ring.

Garcia tweeted saying, “I want it more than anything right now”. Davis reciprocated by uttering, “signed sealed delivered…done deal!” Will De La Hoya’s suddenly imposed immediacy now impair Garcia vs. Davis?

A user was of the opinion that boxing could be so much more than what it currently is if only the fans received the exact fights that they wanted.
Boxing could be sooo much more than what it is. Gotta give people the fights they want, when they want it or they are gonna move on from the sport. #DavisGarcis
