He fought a hugely successful exhibition match against Roy Jones Jr. three years ago. But, over 18 summers have passed since Mike Tyson said goodbye to the squared circle. However, as footage on Instagram shared recently shows, there’s no let-up in the former Heavyweight champion’s fundamentals. His punches still carry the devastating power that used to put the fear of God in the hardest of opponents. More so, his agility and economy of movement remain as sharp as they used to be in his prime.
Legendary MMA trainer Rafael Cordeiro shared a short clip. The Instagram handle of Kings MMA showed Tyson throwing combinations at the body protector and then taking a break. Their message read, “Sweat doesn’t lie! #boxing #miketyson Sweats don’t lie! @miketyson #huntingtonbeach #kingsmma.” Perhaps the intensity and aggression the youngest Heavyweight champion threw those punches reminded everyone of his heydays.

But the next fan believes that Mike Tyson, unfortunately, squandered away a lot of time staying out of the ring. He could have even made a comeback almost a decade ago. If, at age fifty-seven, he appears so good, then it shouldn’t surprise anyone how his performance could have been at age forty or more. The fan said, “I’m thinking about how much time Mike Tyson wasted all that time away…. this return could have occurred at least about 10 years ago. At least, at 57 years old, it’s at that level. Imagine at 40 and a few years old. It’s in fact a shame all this talent has been lost over all those years.”

From the hallowed environs of the gym came world champions such as Anderson Silva, Lyoto Machida, and many others.
