Ben Shalom has seen an extensive rise in the world of boxing. His promotional banner, Boxxer, has caught the eye of a lot of fighters as well as fans. Shalom has managed to become UK’s youngest licensed boxing promoter, and through his hard work, he landed a four-year exclusive broadcast deal with Sky Sports. The team has promoted some important fights until now. The biggest one yet would be the marquee fight between Amir Khan and Kell Brook on February 19, 2022.

Shalom has been involved with boxing for a long time. He even slammed no doping test for the Chris Eubank Jr vs. Liam Smith rematch. Now, his banner has announced a media rights partnership with NBC Sports to broadcast their fights in the US as well. This is a big step since this will open a door for better promotion of the fights to American boxing fans as well. Additionally, it’s also a great step for Shalom from the financial perspective, since NBC Sports is a subsidiary of the company with a $182 billion market cap, Comcast. The fans felt elated after hearing this.

Another fan pointed out that it’s a great fight to initiate such a deal. They also stated that they feel it is the most anticipated fight for them, among all the fights about to happen this year.

A fan mentioned that this is a great step for the sport of boxing. This kind of deal may bring back the Network TV broadcasting that was prevalent back in the 70s and 80s, the time when boxing was at its pinnacle.

However, not all the fans seemed excited about this. One fan stated that this just adds to another subscription plan in the crowd of others, that will require the fans to pay for disappointing results.

Meanwhile, an X user stated that Americans can also get the gist of the “diluted products“.
