Haney violently shoved Lomachenko during their ceremonial weigh-in. This has led the Nevada State Athletic Commission to plan on filing a complaint for a disciplinary hearing. Moreover, it is expected that in light of his action, he may have to pay a fine. Vasyl Lomachenko appeared unaffected by the incident. However, the commission has requested a second medical examination to clear him for the fight. Haney who will earn a guaranteed $4 million for the fight shared how confident he is for the fight. He said, “Now he’s mine. He doesn’t possess the power… He’s scared… I see it now, a hundred percent.”

Moreover, he also left a warning and boldly declared his act of pushing Lomachenko as just the beginning. He said, “That was just the start”. He went further and said, “You see how easy I pushed him? He’s a smaller man and I’m gonna impose my will on him.” Haney faced heavy disapproval from the audience after the shove. However, this has only increased the anticipation for the fight nonetheless.

Haney believes that Vasyl Lomachenko will fight ‘dirty’

Lomachenko is shorter than Haney, so it’s obvious that he will have to close the distance to land effective punches. Haney previously addressed this and gave some remarks on the situation. “We will have to wait and see. We are familiar with Loma’s strategy of getting in close, making it a rough fight, and trying to wear me down”, said Haney. However, Haney shared his belief in his abilities and appeared prepared for anything Lomachenko throws at him. He even slammed Lomachenko on his apparently delusional comments.

He declared that he considers himself a formidable fighter, possessing size and endurance. Moreover, he claims that he intends on breaking down Lomachenko. He shared that while Lomachenko will try to wear him down, he has full faith in his capability.
