Jai Opetaia and Mairis Briedis went to war on July 2 at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre in Australia. The fight was a sensational display of wrath and fire. The fight had been postponed two times before. For the first time, the Latvian boxer tested positive for Covid-19. Furthermore, the second time Opetaia pulled out because of an injury. But the fight finally took place, and it was really worth the wait. The winner’s jaw was severely damaged, and as a result, he was unable to talk all that much. He quickly departed the post-fight press conference to receive medical attention.
