“That’s My Brother Not Me”: Jermell Charlo Disagrees With His Brother on the Ryan Garcia vs Gervonta Davis Bet

A lot of eyes are set on the April 22nd fight between Ryan Garcia and Gervonta Davis. Many are choosing their sides and even putting money on their favorite fighter to come forth as the winner of this bout. Recently, American boxer, Jermall Charlo placed a $10,000 bet on Ryan Garcia to win against Gervonta Davis. Meanwhile, his twin brother, Jermell Charlo, made his stance clear about Ryan Garcia vs Gervonta Davis. He even stated that he has nothing to do with the bet and it was his brother’s choice to do as he wants. He even went on to express his disagreement with his brother about the upcoming bout.

Both twin brothers are pro boxers. Notably, Jermall Charlo is an undefeated fighter, who currently holds the WBC World Middleweight championship. While, his brother, Jermell Charlo, has 1 loss in his career, and is considered to be one of the best Super Welterweight fighters around the world. He has conquered multiple belts in the division, with IBF, WBO, WBA, and WBC championships under his name.

Jermall Charlo announced his $10,000 bet on Instagram Live, which went viral, and boxing fans went wild when they got to know about it. Meanwhile, Jermell has been getting a lot of DMs about his stance on the fight, where he posted an Instagram Story, which is later tweeted by the boxing editor, Michael Benson.

In the Story, he clearly said that he doesn’t think the same as his brother and he’s in the support of Gervonta Davis. Jermell wrote, “Don’t @ me bout no damn 10k bet. Thats my brother NOT ME. I’m rocking with @gervontaa 🦁 X 🦍“. Now, Jermall also gave another reason for not choosing Davis as the winner. In a recent interview, he threw some light on the “not cool” relationship with ‘Tank’ in comparison to Ryan Garcia.

Jermall Charlo is ‘not cool’ with Gervonta Davis

Back in 2018, ‘Hit Man’ and ‘Tank’ went a little back and forth on Twitter, where Davis accused him and his brother to be under the influence of cocaine. Jermall responded to him in a video later that year. In an interview, questioning about the recent fight prediction, the reporter asked him whether his decision is influenced by what happened back then in 2018, or is it more because of his liking towards Ryan Garcia.

Jermall stated that he likes Garcia and has a great relationship with him and his brother. And they have a great relationship in general, meanwhile, it’s not the same with Davis. He even remarked that he respects Davis as a fighter but they don’t have a great personal relationship.

Jermall said, “We’ve always been cool with Ryan. He cool with my twin brother, we cool. I’m not cool with Tank like that so I mean, not throughout like the beef and shit but it is what it is.
