Gervonta Davis is one of the most prominent rising prospects in the world of boxing. Known for his explosive power and impressive speed, Davis has left almost every opponent he has faced so far on the canvas. At just the age of 29 years old, he already has an undefeated record with 27 of his 29 victories coming via a knockout. His knockout performance earlier this year against Ryan Garcia was a testament to his skill being levels above his contemporaries.
However, after his April fight, he didn’t return to the ring and doesn’t appear to have any plans to do so either for the remainder of the year. This is also because of him finding himself in trouble with the law. However, it appears that another opponent for the boxing champion has turned up. So what happens when the boxing sensation gets challenged by a rapper to a no-gloves fight?

Claressa Shields is left in disbelief as a rapper challenges Gervonta Davis
The surprising situation took place when rapper HoneyKomb Brazy had a bone to pick with none other than the WBA lightweight champion. In an Instagram Live, he boldly claimed, “Tank Davis? Who the fuck is Tank Davis? Tank that got knocked out a couple times in the ring with n****s. Tank that got dropped with gloves on- ain’t no gloves on these b***hes”. He even predicted the whole sequence of the brawl that would take place between them.
He claimed that he would simply drop Davis even stating, “Not today Tank. Down goes Frazier, ain’t no way. Ain’t no way here, I swear to god I’ll beat the f**k outta Tank Davis. I know that for a fact.” As the news surfaced on social media it left the fans in disbelief over the rapper’s bold predictions. However, even the undisputed champion Claressa Shields was utterly baffled by this as she shared the video with her followers. She even wrote, “the AUDACITY!”, indicating her surprise at the call out.

We all know it is not in Davis’ nature to back down from a fight and Brazy’s bold challenge received a swift response.
Davis wants all the smoke
Those who know ‘Tank’ would have seen this coming as the Baltimore native doesn’t let any disrespect slide. So naturally when the news of the callout reached him, he didn’t hesitate to pick up the challenge. Interestingly Davis asked Brazy for a no gloves fight after his comments on Davis fighting with gloves on. Davis wrote, “We can catch the one no gloves on.” At the time the rapper appeared bold as he claimed, “When you want to do it I’m really like that I’m not dodging no smoke @gervontaa real prison baby”.

However, as the boxer readily agreed to the fight, it seems that the reality quickly set in for the rapper. After the young boxer sent a message to the rapper writing, “Ion no fight coming up so we can do it asap.” Surprisingly Brazy quickly folded as he wrote, “Man yall tell tank leave me alone fr…I was just talking shh fr I be betting on you every time I respect yo gangsta.” He even posted a screenshot of his conversation with Davis.
It appears fans will not get to see Davis in an all-out no gloves fight for now. What are your thoughts about the whole situation? Did you want Davis to fight the rapper? Do share what you think in the comments below.
