Multiple reports have been coming regarding the current status of former British super middleweight champion Tony Dodson‘s son. Some media outlets have reported that Anthony Dodson‘s condition is serious. However, a few mentioned that he was on the road to recovery.

The 21-year-old, an amateur boxer, was admitted to a hospital following a nasty fight that erupted on Victoria Street in downtown Liverpool. Young Dodson was reportedly one of the three men who received injuries. According to the update on The Sun, he was stabbed in the heart. Ever since the news got out, there has been an outpouring of grief and shock over the untoward incident. Many voices from the boxing community, such as former champions Tony Bellew and Rocky Fielding, also joined the family in these trying moments, offering support and solidarity.

Telling Anthony Dodson not to give up, Bellew, a former world cruiserweight champion, said that the young boxer had the ‘heart and soul’ of a champion. Though he still finds it inconceivable, Rocking Fielding also encouraged the young man to bounce back again.

The following user wished that the news of Anthony Dodson’s stab wound reaching his heart was untrue. Given that he is young and fit, he stands a better chance of recovery, they believe.

This follower also, while hoping that those wielding knives should face serious consequences for their crimes, hoped for a faster recovery for Anthony Dodson.

This user highlighted how the entire city was praying and rooting for Anthony Dodson. They wished that no parent or family should have to undergo such a terrible situation.

The following user told Rocky Fielding how they had known Anthony Dodson from the time he was born. They have been praying for him to recover ever since they learned about the news.

Expressing that their thoughts are with Tony Dodson and his family, the following user urged Anthony Dodson not to give up under any circumstances.

According to the piece on The Mirror, the other two victims, young men in their early 20s, incidentally found their way to the hospital for treatment. While one had suffered a knife attack on the head, the other had injuries on the back.

Three years ago, Anthony Dodson, following in his father’s footsteps in boxing, won the Merseyside and Cheshire Youth Championship. Later at Speke, Liverpool held the national championship, and he reached the quarterfinals. His father, Tony Dodson, was active between the years 1999 and 2016. In 2003, he became the British super middleweight champion.
