The post has already received over half a million likes. The number of comments doesn’t show any sign of abating. Give and take a few, a common theme runs across the reactions: that the clip was staged. Boxing Kingdom shared a video yesterday evening. The slightly half-minute-long clip shows Regis Prograis and his wife standing at a block corner.
Then one of the two men, who were passing by, nudged at Raquel Prograis‘ hands. Taken aback by the slight, the former light welterweight champion calls them out. While one of the guys, with long hair, postures aggressively, his friend, in white tees, tries to reason. Suddenly, the latter realizes who they are dealing with. He reigns in his belligerent companion, who is shouting, “Do you know who I am,‘ by showing him old footage of Prograis knocking out an opponent. It was enough to convince the friend that they were against an expert fighter. Though still mouthing off, the man with long hair leaves the place with his friend.

Far from reality? Fans speculate
The tweet read, “Boxing star Regis Prograis nearly ended up in a street fight, protecting his wife. The fight stopped once they noticed who he was.” Most who saw the video pointed out that it was nothing but a show.
Take, for instance, this user. They mentioned that, though they are not someone who usually discerns whether something has been staged. But in this case, they could make out that it was completely orchestrated.
Looks pretty staged tbh… and I’m not the type of person to notice if something’s stage or what to look for or anything like that. But this looks staged to me.

However, the following user felt that probably the second career loss to Devin Haney forced Prograis into such gimmicks.
The loss to devin fucked him up bad

Echoing almost similar sentiments, this user highlighted that Devin Haney had beaten him soundly. Hence, in order to regain his confidence level, Regis Prograis has started indulging in such takeoffs.
Dev put them hands on him now he’s doing skits to rebuild his confidence.

This follower stated that ‘Rougarou’ can barely stand, let alone fight anyone, especially after the thrashing he received from Devin Haney.
Literally nobody scared of him after that Haney fight. Bro has two left feet can’t even stand straight 🤣

According to this user, after watching this clip, many would find even the match between Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou to seem right.
Suddenly, the boxing only crowd thinking Fury beat Ngannou is making a lot more sense. No clue when something is fake.

It’s still difficult to make out the real reason behind making this particular video. Probably, fans will soon hear from Regis Prograis over what precisely transpired.

Regis Prograis: What’s next for the ‘Werewolf’
The soon-to-be 35-year-old boxer lost his light welterweight title to Devin Haney two weeks ago. He won the championship last year after knocking out Jose Zepeda in the eleventh round of their bout. During the post-fight press conference, while speaking about the loss, Prograis shared that his next attempt would be to chase the third world title. The New Orleans-born southpaw became a first-time world champion three years ago, taking home the light welterweight belt in 2019.
