After Manny Pacquiao lost the unified Welterweight bout against Floyd Mayweather in 2015, a section of the boxing world wondered if this was it for Manny. Of course, as Max Kellerman had then correctly pointed out, one had to consider the lack of ferocity in Pacquiao’s boxing shown against ‘TBE’.
However, in no time Pacquiao returned and captured the WBO International and World Welterweight titles before facing Jeff Horn in 2017. And although Horn won the fight in a controversial decision, one must acknowledge the epic battle Pacquiao fought with him. The legacy is on the line for George Kambosos Jr.
Although ‘Pac-Man’ thought he won the fight against Mayweather, one has to mention that he missed 81% of the punches he threw on the night of 2nd May 2015. As a result, when he was facing Jeff Horn after the Timothy Bradley Jr. and Jessie Vargas fights, for Pacquiao, the legacy was on the line. Well, he had to justify that despite the Mayweather loss, he was still one of the best pound-for-pound pugilists in the sport. At this, Kambosos Jr. feels his legacy will also be on the line when he faces Lomachenko in a potential fight which will likely justify his place in boxing too.

As a result, taking to X, referring to Pacquiao vs. Horn and the potential Lomachenko fight, Kambosos Jr. wrote, “A Proper Fight! A Proper WAR! A Couple Straps On The Line, Legacy On The Line!! There Will Be Blood With It Or On It.” Looks like Kambosos Jr. is mentally prepared to face the Loma in the ring. But, will the fight come to fruition?
