“There’s Definitely Some Little Hate Towards My Grandfather”: Grandson Claps Back at Haters for Disrespecting Muhammad Ali & His Family With a Mike Tyson Example

Muhammad Ali’s grandson, Nico Ali Walsh, has made his mark in the boxing world and has proven himself to be a talented fighter. Despite this, he has faced criticism from those who believe that he is only using the Ali name to gain popularity and fame. However, Nico has a different perspective on this issue. Nico sat down for a chat with Top Rank’s Unbox’d podcast, where he rebukes his haters and explains his views on the matter.

Being the grandson of such a legendary boxer comes with its own disadvantage and challenges. To step out of such a large, looming shadow is an extremely arduous task. To make a separate name for himself, Nico has a lot of work in front of him.

Honoring the Legacy: Nico Ali Walsh’s Response to Criticism

When asked about the criticism he has faced, Nico Ali Walsh stated that he was surprised to hear that people believe he is using the Ali name to gain popularity.

He said, “… when I got when I got into boxing, I assumed that people had the same respect for my grandfather that I did.

He could never imagine that someone would think that his intentions for getting into boxing were for money or fame.

Furthermore, he added,” And so with that in mind, there’s no way if you have respect for my grandfather that you’d think his grandson is getting into boxing for clout, you know“.

He also gave an example to demonstrate his point, “I’ve loved Mike Tyson for years. His grandson, if I was if I- thirty years from now twenty years from now if his grandson got into boxing I would never question his intentions of like is he getting into boxing for the money or the fame? I would never do that.” He further states that he has too much respect for Mike Tyson to do that.

Nico’s perspective on the criticism he has faced provides insight into how he feels about the issue. And how he values his family and his grandfather’s legacy.

Instead, he is focused on his passion for boxing and his love for his family.

Nico Ali Walsh is seeking greatness in Glendale, Arizona. He is preparing for a boxing match against Eduardo Ayala in Desert Diamond Arena. He has had a successful career in boxing so far, with seven wins, five of which were by knockout. Recently, even Evan Holyfield, son of Evander Holyfield, showed his interest in a potential fight with Nico Walsh.

Although he was around boxing his whole life, he made a conscious decision to work hard and become a professional boxer at the age of 14. He trained with legendary trainers Abel Sanchez and SugarHill Steward.
