Mike Tyson fought his way through the Brooklyn hoods to enter the ring! As the story goes, the first fight Tyson got into was over pigeons. But he never looked back once he entered the squared circle. Life’s ups and downs saw him through some of the most trying times. But Tyson plodded on. A settled life post-retirement saw him become a successful businessman. Likewise, his foray into entertainment made him one of the most invited celebrities. But still, there are a few trappings of the high life that he avoids.

In the latest episode of Hotboxin’, Colombian musician J Balvin joined as the guest, hosted by Mike Tyson and DJ Whoo Kid. The thirty-eight-year-old Medellin-based singer, the ‘Prince of Reggaeton,’ started his musical journey in 2004. After the introductory chit-chats, the trio discussed Balvin’s music and how Columbia has changed. Then they started talking about lifestyles, and Tyson soon touched base with the taxes. As he started explaining his understanding of the subject, Whoo Kid interjected, “Speaking of homes, your home is amazing. I saw your s**t on YouTube. [So] I was like, um golly can you walk around Columbia?

Balvin said that he goes without any bodyguards and drives his vehicles. Surprised Whoo Kid mentioned that Tyson goes around in a similar fashion. The Columbian artist replied that it all concerns how you interact with people. Listening attentively, Tyson stated that he doesn’t drive his cars since he smokes a lot. Balvin then explained he doesn’t have bodyguards because he isn’t comfortable with the idea, and people constantly watching.

When Mike Tyson said, “Yeah, if you have bodyguards, who am I to put somebody in the position to get killed for me,” Balvin added that it could be since, unlike most people, he can knock down a person with one punch. Tyson responded, “Listen, this is what I know. I don’t care they kill presidents. How they’re going to not kill me if they really want me?” This revelation from Mike Tyson might startle many fans.

The youngest Heavyweight champion has been throwing quite a few harrowing incidents. Starting from his early days when renowned trainer Teddy Atlas threatened him with a gun for harassing the trainer’s relative to the time when the serial killer Dale Housner came and met him inside a gym in Phoenix, Arizona. ‘Iron’ Mike couldn’t control himself and let loose a barrage of punches on a passenger who pestered him constantly on a JetBlue flight.

And when he enquired about how such a crowd got near him, he was told that they ‘bought a ticket.’
