American late-night TV host Jimmy Kimmel revealed the news on his show. Expressing his gratitude, Dempsey acknowledged the positive impact this recognition can have in his life. He stated, “It’s nice to have the recognition, and certainly my ego takes a little bump, but it gives me the platform to use it for something positive.”

Moreover, he was competing against figures like Pedro Pascal, Timothée Chalamet, Usher, Jamie Foxx, Jason Kelce, and Lenny Kravitz. However, the 57-year-old actor appeared to have won the competition nonetheless. Speaking of it, he joked about how he has “always been the bridesmaid!”. He also added, “I’d completely forgotten about it and never even contemplated being in this position. So my ego is good.” Interestingly, it seems that his family certainly found him being on the list hilarious as the actor revealed how they “laughed, quite hard” as he broke the news in his household. The actor revealed the conversation he went through, “They were like, ‘No, seriously. Who is it?’ And I’m like, ‘No, it’s me’”. He added, “Reality came crashing in.”
