July 29th will be the day when the bout between the legends Terence Crawford and Errol Spence Jr. takes place. The headlining match is one of the most awaited and asked-for clashes in recent history. Recently, Keith Thurman expressed his excitement about the match in his interview with Brian Custer, the host of the podcast The Last Stand on SHOWTIME Sports

The exclusive conversation between ‘One Time’ and Custer ranged from topics like his next bout to the upcoming fight between Crawford and Spence, and his possible fights with Vergil Ortiz and Jaron Ennis. Welterweight division boxer, Keith Thurman earlier announced that he will fight Yordenis Ugas in the August of 2023. This will be the first time that Thurman will enter the ring after his winning bout with Mario Barrios.

“History in the making”: says Keith Thurman on the Upcoming Bout Between Spence and Crawford.

In the candid conversation with Brian Custer, Thurman spoke elaborately about the much-awaited fight between Terence Crawford and ‘The Truth.’ He said this bout is exactly what the fans wanted. This will add drama and further hype to the “shenanigans” fights that have been happening lately. Thurman said,  I want to see the greats, you know?” He further added about the constant back-and-forth negotiations the two boxers undertook before finally breaking a deal to fight. ” If they were going to keep clashing and did not come up with a deal, Thurman would have popped right in. I am not hard to negotiate,” he said.

Furthering the conversation about the Hall of Famers, Thurman said, “It’s history in the making. Hall of Famer, you know? Whoever wins, they are guaranteed in the Hall of Fame. But at the end of the day, somebody is going to have a few more sentences underneath their name when they get handed that plaque.”

Thurman Speaks about his upcoming Fight with Ugas

Custer also sought Thurman’s thoughts about his upcoming bout with Yordenis Ugas announced to happen in August this year. This will also be the first time Ugas will fight it off since April last year when he lost to Spence. Thurman briefly spoke about the interesting recent years he has had. ‘One Time’ has been off-the-radar for quite some time now. He has had only two bouts since 2019. He further spoke about how he is invested in world-class competition.

Thurman had been actively trying to swoop his way through against Crawford as he and Spence tried to hash out a deal for a long time. However, Thurman had to take a step back as ‘Bud’ and ‘The Truth’ have finally announced to enter the ring against each other. July and August are going to be heavily engaging seasons for the world of boxing as it will turn its eyes to the much-awaited bouts.
