Boxing as a sport has always had fighters beefing with each other and trash-talking before their fights. This acts both as a marketing strategy and as a trick to keep them motivated to take their opponent down when they finally do face off. Hip-hop shares a similar culture minus the actual fight.

Rick Ross and 50 Cent, the two famous rappers, have had bad blood for years now. Rick Ross’ attempt to showcase his boxing skills in an effort to navigate the ongoing cold war with 50 Cent hasn’t been winning him any fans. As Ross posted a video of him trying his hand at boxing, fans have not held back while letting him know that his skills leave something to be desired.

‘Dantheboxingman’ posted a clip on his X account, which showed Ross sparring with Richardson Hitchins. The rapper did his best to hit the pads with his entire strength in the 13-second-long clip, which ended with an elated Hitchins flashing a huge smile across his face, happy to be training Ross. The video gathered about 76 thousand views, 177 likes, and 60 comments.

Supposedly, 50 Cent and Rick Ross had a confrontation at an event, with 50 denying any recognition of the Miami rapper. Tensions escalated when Ross dissed 50 in “Mafia Music,” prompting 50’s retaliation with “Officer Ricky (Go Head, Try Me).” This ignited a decade-long feud marked by ongoing verbal sparring on social media and diss tracks, involving other associates in the conflict as well. Fans brought up the rivalry after watching Ross spar.

Fans question Rick Ross’ boxing skills

Ross’s punches, according to fans, were not strong or fast enough. “I see why these rappers need guns, because if they had to rely on their fists it’s a wrap for them,” said one fan, reasoning out why rappers carry arms.

“Ross vs 50 2024,” demanded another fan.

Another fan found the clip silly, stating, “This is a joke right? He’s kidding, no?”

“They way he went back and forth with 50, I thought he would at least be able to box,” said another fan bringing up his feud with 50 Cent.

“He better leave 50 alone, unless he’s planning on using police brutality,” said another fan referring to claims that Rick Ross used to be a correctional officer before this career in music took off.
