The Francis Ngannou–Tyson Fury fight anticipation had been brewing for months. And the two heavyweight champions finally battled it out in Saudi Arabia. In a highly controversial split decision victory, Fury claimed the win against the former UFC champion. While one judge scored 95-94 in favor of Ngannou, the other two gave the victory to Fury, with scores of 96-93 and 95-94. Fury, as a result, saved his undefeated record as the WBC heavyweight champion.
Chris Eubank Jr. had been carefully watching the fight from the ringside and the verdict did not quite sit right with him. The ‘Predator’ to see defeat after knocking down Fury was not what he had expected.

Chris Eubank Jr. finds Tyson Fury undeserving of the win
Taking the spectators and Fury himself by surprise, Ngannou put Fury on the canvas in round three with a left hook. However, the ‘Gypsy King’ recovered. Further, he finished the fight but with a cut forehead and a small mark under his left eye. For a debutant, Ngannou’s performance exceeded expectations. “Watching from ringside I thought Ngannou won the fight. It was close but he was the aggressor, landed heavier shots & scored a knockdown.” said Eubank Jr.

He finds Fury undeserving of the win. Taking a shot at him, he said, “Fury deserved to lose after having so much trouble against a man who has never boxed before… too much time filming Netflix specials not enough time in the gym I’m guessing. Unlucky Francis.”
He jeered at Fury for wasting his time filming documentaries instead of drilling for his match.

The fate of Tyson Fury-Oleksandr Usyk fight
Fury, who had signed for the Usyk fight before his 10-round bout with Ngannou, likely considered the former UFC champion as more of a tune-up than a real challenge. However, the fight turned out to be much tougher than expected. The highly anticipated showdown with Usyk, a battle both fighters had engaged in verbally, hit a roadblock during negotiations earlier this year and remained without a confirmed date.
Initially rumored for December 23, the bout’s scheduling is now uncertain due to the gruelling encounter with Ngannou. Fury, in light of his injuries, must carefully assess his recovery before determining when he’ll be fit to step into the ring again.

Ngannou certainly established a fan base in the boxing world after his performance against Fury. To step into a new arena and lose by only a split decision against the champion is not a feat just everyone can achieve. Though the odds favoured Fury, Ngannou proved his dedication in the boxing ring yesterday.
