Deals, promotions, contracts. No, we are not talking about business. But yes, since that is what boxing offers these days, right? The December 3rd fight between current WBC champion Tyson Fury and challenger Derek Chisora will take place at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium in London. But as fate would have it, the deal caved in. Joshua could not confirm by the deadline, September 26th. The infuriated champion refused to extend the deadline and decided to move on.

With Andy Ruiz and Deontay Wilder restricted to eliminators, Derek Chisora remained the only choice left for Fury. The Gypsy Kind and Del Boy War have met on two occasions, with the former ending as a consecutive winner.

Hence, the ground was open for all to question Fury’s decision. Why he picked a person against whom only little remains to be proven, instead of taking on a boxer of Joshua’s pedigree and caliber? Not to forget, both Chisora and Joshua are managed by the same promoter, Eddie Hearn, the Chairman of Matchroom Sport.
