“Tyson Fury Is Too High”: Deontay Wilder Drops, Anthony Joshua rises; New Ring Magazine Rankings Gets Fans All Riled Up

Fans expressed dissatisfaction with Ring Magazine’s recent heavyweight rankings following last Saturday’s ‘Day of Reckoning’ card. The updated rankings stirred debate and discontent among some of the fans. Deontay Wilder dropped in rankings drastically, while Anthony Joshua climbed up the list. There were questions raised about the position of other fighters as well.

Many fans believed that some partiality was involved while making the list, as even Tyson Fury was accused of being a bit on the higher side. Meanwhile, the position of Joseph Parker could be placed higher, according to some fans. Especially after his recent performance against Wilder. So, let’s take a peek into the Ring Magazine rankings.

In the recent Ring Magazine heavyweight rankings, Oleksandr Usyk holds the top spot, preceding Tyson Fury. This set the stage for their upcoming undisputed fight scheduled for February 17. Anthony Joshua, Zhilei Zhang, and Joseph Parker secure the next three (second, third, and fourth) positions, respectively.

Notably, the fifth-ranked contender is Filip Hrgović, a Croatian heavyweight, who impressed fans with a first-round KO on the ‘Day of Reckoning’. The remaining slots in the top ten feature Frank Sanchez, Jared Anderson, Joe Joyce, and Agit Kabayel. However, some fans expressed skepticism about Deontay Wilder’s inclusion, with him lingering in the 9th position.

However, some fans are quite discontent with some fighters while a few are happy about the other boxers.

So, the fans talked about the changed positions of the fighters, and one of the most debated rankings was of Deontay Wilder. One of the fans appreciated Anthony Joshua’s ranking, after his amazing performance against Otto Wallin.

Another fan mentioned that Wilder’s position at ninth is quite right since he’d lose to everybody who’s above him.

One fan felt that Tyson Fury didn’t deserve to be in the top half of the rankings, after his disappointing performance against Francis Ngannou. They even questioned the ranking of Jared Anderson.

A fan believed that Joseph Parker needed to be placed in a higher position than Zhilei Zhang.

An X user claimed that the last man in the rankings, Agit Kabayel, has the potential to beat everybody on the list.

So the fans had their own set of opinions regarding the updated list of the Ring Magazine. Well, it’s obvious that everybody wouldn’t be happy with every ranking on the list.
