Tyson Fury Not Motivated to Fight ‘AJ’: “I Don’t Need Anthony Joshua”

A few days back, Tyson Fury and his team were looking for every possibility to seal a 12-round war against Anthony Joshua for the undisputed heavyweight title. Both the fighters, too, were keen to battle each other out and settle their rift once for all. However, Deontay Wilder came in and aligned himself for a bout against Fury.
This entire sequence of events left ‘The Gypsy King’ fuming as he wished to fight ‘AJ’ for all the titles. However, now, it seems Fury isn’t quite interested in battling his compatriot.
In a fresh chat with SecondsOut, he said, “When it happens, it happens. If it happens, it happens. If it doesn’t, I continue, keep boxing whoever they put in front of me and that’s it. I’m not like I said, I don’t need Anthony Joshua. Anthony Joshua don’t need me. He’s made a lot of money too.”

When questioned about the legacy being more important to Joshua, Fury responded, “If it does mean more to him, he should avoid me at all costs. Because that’s one fight he can’t win.”
For now, as ‘The Gypsy King’ is lined up for a July 24th trilogy against Deontay Wilder, he’s primarily shifted all of his attention to this fight rather than anything else in the pipeline. That said, in the above interview, the WBC heavyweight champ stayed real on whether he’d like to fight ‘AJ’ Joshua at any point in the future.

However, before this fight can take place, both champions will have to win their next bouts.
The undefeated Fury and the stern Joshua will be eager to test each other once they take up the ring space together. And more than anyone else, they’d root for this fight once/if they beat Wilder and Usyk, respectively.
