Tyson Fury Sets One Big Condition for Deontay Wilder Quadrilogy

The Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury trilogy was one of the most powerful showdowns in the heavyweight division. Post the trilogy, Fury went on to face Dillian Whyte while Wilder took a yearlong hiatus before facing Robert Helenius. While they showcased stellar performances, their fights were unable to recreate the magic of their trilogy. Fury recently set down the conditions for a potential fourth fight with Wilder.

Fury is currently set to face Derek Chisora for their trilogy fight at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London on December 3, 2022. Meanwhile, there have been talks about Wilder‘s fight with Andy Ruiz Jr. Moreover, these fights are said to be heavyweight eliminator bouts. And the winners of both these matches would be facing each other.

Talking about a potential fourth fight with Wilder, Fury said, “I’ve been over there [the United States] three times now, if he wants the fourth fight he’s got to come to England. Do it at Wembley, break all records again. Wilder is a phenomenal athlete and a phenomenal puncher.”

He further added, “Here’s the thing, I beat Wilder, some people say three times and some people say two and a draw. However, you want to look at it. So, would people be interested in seeing me, and him fight again for a fourth time?”

Fury also mentioned that he wants to wait and see what the future holds for both fighters.

The Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder trilogy

Tyson Fury first faced Fury at the Staples Center in Los Angeles in 2018. The fight ended in a draw. However, this was a highly disputed decision, with many fans and commentators stating that Fury got robbed. While others sided with Wilder.

This build-up paved the way for yet another showdown in 2020. Fury won the bout by a 7th-round TKO. Moreover, he won Wilder’s WBC heavyweight title and the vacant The Ring heavyweight title.

The third fight in 2021 was what elevated the trilogy to the pedestal. Wilder wished to reclaim his titles. But Fury went on to win the fight via 11th-round TKO. The drama surrounding the fight and the iconic fight itself made it one of the greatest heavyweight fights of all time.
