WBC champions, Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder, will face off one more time before they put a lid on their heavyweight rivalry. The much-awaited trilogy bout is reportedly going to happen this year itself. Well, if not for the COVID-19, the heavyweight matchup would have possibly been materialized by now. However, boxing promoters have still managed to outline a plan for ‘Fury vs Wilder 3’. Therefore, it is not going to be postponed till the next year.

Speaking with Sky Sports, Frank Warren confirmed that ‘The Bronze Bomber’ has agreed to fight ‘The Gypsy King’ by the time 2020 ends. This automatically rules out the WBC Interim champion, Dillian Whyte, from the title mix for the time.

Earlier, it was reported that Whyte would face Fury if Wilder steps out. However, it appears that Whyte would have to wait longer now since Wilder would fight Fury to reclaim his lost WBC gold, as per Warren.

The Gypsy King’s UK promoter Frank Warren newly discussed Fury’s matchup opposite Wilder. Surprisingly, Warren believes that the ‘Bronze Bomber’ can offer something different in the third fight. Although Wilder got manhandled by Fury in the rematch, Warren doesn’t believe that the Alabaman poses no threat to Fury in-ring.

“I don’t know what Deontay can bring that’s any different from the previous two fights.

“He feels that he can. I know speaking to Shelly Finkel, his manager, he’s very, very confident. He believes he’s got the beating of Tyson. That remains to be seen,” said Warren.

The venue of the fight is yet to be materialized. New Zealand and Las Vegas have already been considered as two venues where Fury and Wilder can collide. However, the reports are not official yet. Meanwhile, Warren clarified that there’s no doubt regarding the heavyweight matchup happening this year, though the venue is finalized.

“When and where it happens, it will be decided I think fairly soon because the fight will have to happen sometime this year, towards the end of the year,” said Warren to Sky Sports.

The Gypsy King also has a message for Wilder

To intensify the title tale, Fury recently alarmed Wilder about their upcoming face-off. The Gypsy King posted a video via social media in which he is spotted training. However, Fury wrote in the caption, “I am coming for you su***r” and tagged Wilder. Although Wilder hasn’t responded to it, he will surely look for an opportunity to respond in-ring.

Deontay Wilder was undefeated like Tyson Fury before the epic rematch happened in February 2020. In the re-match Fury snatched away Wilder’s undefeated record and the WBC title via seventh-round knockout. With 42-1-1 now, Wilder will look forward to getting back to the win column in his upcoming fight.
