Keyshawn Davis aka ‘The Businessman’ is a name that’s coming up across the board. The 24-year-old is recognized by even the legendary Floyd Mayweather who says he has everything. For many, being compared to Money Mayweather would be an overstatement, not for Davis as he was compared directly to Mayweather by Top Rank President, Todd duBoef.

Davis made his ascent to world titles against Nahir Albright. However, his run was haltered by a failed drug test. According to Top Rank, Davis’ promotion, he tested positive for marijuana. The Texas commission suspended him for 90 days and changed his majority decision win against Albright to a no-decision. Davis lost his titles immediately after getting them. His suspension has now come to an end as he makes his way into the ring again.

Keyshawn Davis has set a date

The Olympic silver medalist is ready to hit back in the ring against Jose Pedraza. The scheduled bout is set to happen on the Teofimo Lopez vs Jamaine Ortiz undercard on the 8th of February at the Michelob ULTRA Arena in Las Vegas. Pedraza has been a two-division champion. ‘The Sniper’ holds an edge over Davis in terms of experience. However, going into this fight, the young talent remains to be the fan favorite.

While Davis’ success last year goes without question, whether he can defeat the 30-year-old veteran with ease or not is a question on the audience’s mind. Davis won’t just have to secure the win, he will have to beat Pedraza with dominance to set the bar for future opponents. How he performs will decide whether he can continue with his undefeated streak or not. Keyshawn Davis has big plans for his future.

Davis states how he is ready for something bigger

Back in October, right before facing Albright, Davis interviewed with The Ring. Davis talked about Albright saying, “All the opponents that he lost to or he faced, I would potentially stop them. It’s his first time going ten rounds and he’s fighting the best prospect you can fight in the sport right now” showcasing much confidence in himself. Defeated Albright would have confirmed Davis as one of the fastest-rising young stars.

Later in the interview, Davis said, “We don’t have to keep waiting, we don’t have to keep procrastinating. I’m ready for a world title right now.” stating that he is now able enough to secure titles. Davis mentioned how he does not care about belts and he only wants to fight champions, because they are champions and that makes them the best.
