Further, Bill Haney, the father, trainer, and manager of Devin indicated that he will move up to 140 category to fight Regis Prograis. Additionally, this potential move, comes draped with risks. The 140lbs Category is a different beast, home to some of the most powerful fighters in the sport. And at the top of that list is a name that sends shivers down the spine of even the most seasoned boxers. He’s Regis Prograis, the current WBC Champ. Prograis has been vocal about a potential match-up with Haney, stating, “If he fought me like he fought Loma, I stop him. I would hurt him real bad. He’s a good boxer, but he doesn’t have the power to keep me off.”

Whether Devin and Prograis will face each other, is still a flickering possibility of the future. But, not only this, Devin has also been in headlines because of another event. But, what is it?

What is Haney’s latest controversy?

In recent news, Devin Haney found himself in a spot of legal trouble. The undisputed Lightweight champion was arrested on a felony weapons charge in Los Angeles in July 2023. Authorities reportedly found a weapon during a traffic stop, leading to Haney’s arrest and subsequent charge with felony possession of a concealed weapon.
