Ever since then, the Ukrainian boxer has asked for a rematch with his foe. However, he got aligned with Masayoshi Nakatani as Lopez was booked against George Kambosos Jr.
That said, the 33-year-old certainly showed what he’s made off in his bout against Nakatani. As he entered this fight, Lomachenko was clear on what he needed to do. He dictated the pace from the initial rounds itself and came out with some astonishing hits to stun the Japanese boxer.
With his powerful shots, ‘Loma’ even displayed some slick defense to dodge the heat coming off Nakatani’s hands. As a result, he didn’t let the former take control of the ring at any point in the fight. And when the contest reached round 9, Lomachenko ended it by battering Nakatani with his constant assault.
Now, with this win, the Ukrainian boxer seems completely ready to rematch his arch-nemesis, Teofimo Lopez.
