On May 1st, in less than two weeks since Ryan Garcia beat Devin Haney, in a letter to ‘KingRy’, VADA disclosed that Garcia’s samples collected on April 19 and 20 contained a performance-enhancing substance called Ostarine. At this, while Devin Haney claimed Garcia cheated both the fans and the sport, ‘KingRy’ objected to the adverse analytical finding, alleging Haney’s associate Victor Conte, “connected to VADA,” had intervened.

On that note, TMZ Sports interviewed Victor Conte, founder of Bay Area Laboratory Co-operative. Besides explaining what Ostarine is, Conte confidently denied playing any part in Garcia’s positive PED test. As per Conte, Garcia is spewing out falsehood in his defense.

His conspiracy theory is completely wrong and debunked. I have nothing to do with this, I am completely independent of VADA. I am not behind Ryan Garcia’s positive drug test,” firmly stated Conte.

It’s foolish for him to say that. There’s absolutely no evidence whatsoever to lend any credence to what he is saying,” he added confidently. By and by, he explained the substance Garcia tested positive for.

After Ryan Garcia’s VADA report came to light, disgusted and disappointed, Devin Haney told ESPN that the fans deserved an apology from Garcia’s end. Since people “die in this sport,” ‘The Dream’ expected the situation to be treated as seriously as possible. Meanwhile, Ryan Garcia took to X and declared, “Never taken a steroid.”  To argue his innocence, ‘KingRy’ even claimed he did not know where to get steroids from. Besides, in a ludicrous statement, the 25-year-old claimed he was on the “JESUS STEROID.”

At this, Victor Conte informed the people that Ostarine is a Selective Androgen Receptor Modulator which is “similar to anabolic steroids.” According to Conte, initially, Ostarine was “pitched as safer than steroids.” “But, of course, they promote protein synthesis or muscle growth, as well as fat loss. They definitely enhance performance,” he added.
