Oscar De La Hoya couldn’t have picked a better song for the setting. For a man who loves the king-size lifestyle, Marc Anthony‘s lyrics on living the life, dancing, and laughing fit the mark. ‘The Golden Boy’ and his team are gearing for the big fight day that falls on December 2 in Texas. Among other fights, probably the most significant card remains the Ryan Garcia and Oscar Duarte Jurado bout. The young Californian suffered a humiliating loss to Gervonta Davis in April. He returns to the ring after a break of eight months.

Amidst squabbles, including one with Ryan Garcia, and slanging matches with other promoters, De La Hoya never forgets to take care of himself. The former world champion remains fighting fit. He can still hold his own against men half his age. Months ago, a few videos of him working out went quite viral. The boxer has never shied away from sharing the good life he enjoys. In the latest instance, he shared a clip of him receiving a hair cut from a celebrity hairstylist on an open balcony. The sky-high place, reportedly forty stories from the ground, made the Las Vegas landscape visible.

De la Hoya shared the footage through Instagram stories. He wrote, “Fresh cut 40 stories up.” He is sitting on a high chair, with a black apron covering his body. Anthony, the ‘Master Barber and Cosmetologist,’ is standing behind with a trimmer. Incidentally, the ‘hair artist,’ as he appears to like calling himself, also shared the clip through a separate post on his Instagram account. He wrote, “It all started with a dream and vision at only 15 years old and has now become my successful career. Forever grateful and blessed to continue to reach new heights alongside amazing people.

The ace promoter turned fifty this year. Clearly, Oscar De la Hoya retains his ‘golden’ touch despite retiring from active boxing fifteen years ago.

Oscar De La Hoya travels through heated exchanges

After the Gervonta Davis fight, a public spat between De La Hoya and Garcia surprised many fans. Unfortunately, a law suit followed. Hopefully, the two seem to have put all their differences on the backburner. They appear to be working on a plan that will see the successful return of the young boxer. Otherwise, ‘The Golden Boy’ is never a person who gives a wide berth to controversial topics or issues.

Fans saw the former world champion-turned promoter engage in a verbal duel with Terence Crawford over management’s role in taking care of a boxer’s career. Incidentally, he had publicly castigated the IBF for their decision to take away the IBF belt from Crawford.
