Floyd Mayweather’s Mayweather Promotions signed Gervonta Davis in 2015. Following his signing with ‘The Money Team’, Davis became the IBF World Super Featherweight champion in pro boxing. Now, the 28-year-old ‘Tank’ holds the WBA World Lightweight title inside the professional boxing ring. After seven years of a successful run with ‘Money’, Davis has called it a day and decided to move forward with his advisor Al Haymon in boxing.

After Gervonta Davis ended his journey with ‘Money‘, the latter took to social media and attached an emotional note to him. Mayweather, who took pride in taking a kid from the same background as him and helping him a multi-millionaire through boxing, wished “more power” to Davis. “If [Gervonta Davis} feels he’s grown wings, so he can fly and be his own boss, more power to him,” Mayweather concluded by saying.

One user did not have anything sonorous to offer Davis. According to their opinion, ‘Tank’ wouldn’t go far without ‘Money’. They said Davis would crash and burn flying with his own wings.

On the other hand, a fan claimed that Mayweather was lying.

After the split, Mayweather spoke about his journey with Davis in detail. Mayweather emphasized how he met ‘Tank’ when, for an autograph, the latter advanced ‘Money’. “You sign the autograph for him, then tell him, ‘In a few years when you get older, I’mma work with you and I’mma make you world champion some day,” ‘TBE’ recounted by saying. Although for Davis and Mayweather, the journey here ends, Mayweather wishes ‘Tank’ all the best.

On May 5th, Davis fought his last fight for Mayweather Promotions when he went up against ‘Rolly’. After the Romero fight, Davis announced he would continue his run with ‘Money’. However, as we neared his upcoming January fight, Davis changed roads and left ‘TBE’.
