In 2023, at the age of 26, the American boxer Teofimo Lopez has already earned the title of former 2-weight division champion, showcasing a remarkable journey from his early years. Notably, Lopez’s introduction to the spotlight was as a pre-teen starring in Terrace Martin’s track ‘Bounce, Rock, Skate,’ alongside Snoop Dogg.

In the music video, a young Lopez can be briefly observed shadowboxing behind bikini-clad women, marking his initial foray into the entertainment world. Interestingly, Lopez revealed that his first encounter with Floyd Mayweather led to his involvement in Snoop Dogg’s music video. Moreover, recently, the director of the music video has also shed light on Lopez’s cameo.

Matt Alonzo appreciates Teofimo Lopez

The famous American director, who’s directed a lot of famous music videos, looked back at his first-ever music video. Well, it was none other than the track on which Teofimo Lopez featured by the side of Snoop Dogg. He also reminisced how little Lopez was at the time, and now he’s the World Champion in the sport of boxing. The Story was shared by Teofimo Lopez on his Instagram account as well.

In the Story, he posted a clip of the music video where Snoop Dogg is rapping his verse, and then Teofimo Lopez appears showcasing his punching technique for a split-second. Alonzo also wrote, “9 year old World Champ @teofimolopez was in my 1st music video in 2008!” The age of Lopez is a bit speculative, since Alonzo claimed him to be 9 years old at the time, however, according to The Sun, the boxer was 11 years old.

In one of the past interviews, Lopez also talked about how Floyd Mayweather got him the gig to star in the music video, while he confirmed his involvement in it. A few years ago, many thought it to be photoshopped and fake.

In a revealing statement to FightHype, Teofimo Lopez shared an intriguing connection between meeting Floyd Mayweather for the first time and his participation in Snoop Dogg’s music video. Lopez highlighted the significance of Mayweather, emphasizing his status as a major figure in the boxing realm. So, ‘The Takeover’ revealed how he knew somebody who had some connection with the music video.

Then he mentioned, “And after I got to meet Floyd, the next day we went to this mansion up in the, I don’t know if it’s Malibu or something man, it was big and I just go and we go, and they are just shooting. I can see the guys, I can see Snoop.” So, after all these years, Lopez still remembers every detail about the day, when he met such great people.
