‘We Still Breathin’: Mike Tyson Sends a Special Message to Frank Bruno

Back in the 1990s, the heavyweight division in boxing was at its peak. This is because the heavy roster comprised fighters like Mike Tyson, Lennox Lewis, Evander Holyfield, and more. Out of all, ‘Iron’ Mike was one of the most followed stars back then, and all of his fights captivated millions of boxing lovers.
The reason Tyson’s bouts were famous was that the American pugilist used to wage a war with all of his opponents, thus making his fights highly intriguing. He entered many great boxing bouts, but a couple of encounters with the Brit, Frank Bruno, are cemented in retro boxing fans’ memories.
Recently, on Bruno’s 60th birthday, ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’ unveiled some sublime words.

He said, “Hey Frank, I’m really sorry couldn’t be there for your 60th birthday. Remember when we met, you were 18, and I was what, no you might be 20 and I was like 16-15. Wow, look what time done to us. Man, we still breathin, Thank god.”
Bruno shared Tyson’s video on Twitter and wrote, “Even a message from my mate in the USA thanks to Sky TV for organising this”

Tyson and Bruno locked horns for the very first time in 1989 for the WBC, WBA, and IBF heavyweight titles. Tyson had an upper hand in this fight with his ‘peek-a-boo’ style but, the exchange of punches was wild as Bruno attacked well.
Both the men entered the clinch multiple times, and they put on a beating on each other. But Tyson got lucky in round 5, as landed some power-packed uppercuts to close the show.

Right from the first bell, Tyson cut the distance well, and he successfully landed his right and left hooks. Finally, in round 3, ‘Iron’ Mike landed a barrage of punches to conclude the bout.
Regardless of the results, both these fights stood tall to the expectations and no one could have asked for more from the two.
