It’s showtime for Agit Kabayel. The Kurd-German boxer who received some flak for pulling out of the Martin Bakole matchup has received an opportunity to improve his standing. Tomorrow at the Kingdom Arena, he will meet the ‘Big Bang’ Zhilei Zhang to settle the question on WBC’s interim heavyweight title. The winner of the duel stands a good chance to stake a claim to champion Oleksandr Usyk‘s title.

It’s a crucial fight for Agit Kabayel. Thus far, he has competed away from the spotlight. Now, with the match against Zhang, it’s time for him to strike gold. Literally. Fighting on the Riyadh Season card for this third time, Kabayel could earn a substantial payout. But a win over the WBC’s number-one ranked contender would push his career to a level where he should be able to draw a big, generous reward. So how much has the heavyweight with Kurdish heritage earned in his previous fights, and where does his current net worth stand? Let’s check out a few details.

Strictly speaking, it’s difficult to pinpoint the precise details surrounding Kabayel’s net worth status. However, a brief perusal of his past payouts might give some rough estimate. According to ‘Sporty Salaries,’ the 32-year-old heavyweight’s net worth hovers in the neighborhood of $2.7 million.

The figure somewhat tallies with the data shared by ‘Front Office Sports.’ According to the report, which featured the ‘highest-paid heavyweight boxers,’ tying up with the Nigerian Efe Ajagba at the twelfth place, Agit Kabayel’s ‘total compensation’ was mentioned as $2 million.

How much does Agit Kabayel earn? Fight purse history

Let’s dive deeper. How much did Kabayel receive for some of his critical professional bouts? Making his debut on June 23, 2011, the heavyweight boxer has thus far participated in 25 fights. Barring a few, almost all the fights took place at home, in Germany.

It wasn’t until 2017, when Agit Kabayel won the European heavyweight championship, that he started facing some prominent names. Apparently, for his first title defense, he fought Derek Chisora. According to ‘Sporty Salaries,’ Kabayel reportedly received (sans pay-per-view share) $300,000.

Two years later, when he defended his title from the Ukrainian Andriy Rudenko, Kabayel received roughly $250,000. For the next two years, when he won and defended his WBA Continental heavyweight title from Evgenios Lazaridis and Kevin Vladimirovich Johnson, respectively, Kabayel received the standard figure of $100,000.

The situation slightly improved when the following year he met Pavel Sour for a non-title fight. ‘Sporty Salaries’ mentions that his fight purse was around $150,000. The trend continued when, in 2023, following the knockout win over Agron Smakici, he secured the vacant European title.

On December 23, 2023, Agit Kabayel made his debut on the Riyadh Season card. He faced the Russian Arslanbek Ruslanovich Makhmudov for the WBC-NABF and WBA Intercontinental heavyweight titles. Six months later, the Kurd-German fighter fought the NABO and WBC Continental Americas champion Frank Sanchez. For both the fights that took place at the Kingdom Arena, Kabayel collectively made $300,000.

For tomorrow’s big fight, Agit Kabayel is expected to take home $1.2 million.

What’s your take? Do you think Agit Kabayel has it in him to make it to the heavyweight A-list?
