One of the year’s biggest fight cards will be on display at Los Angeles’ BMO Stadium tomorrow. Making his debut in the 154-pound light middleweight division, Terence Crawford will face reigning champion Israil Madrimov. The entire focus of the boxing world is on the fighters, whose fate will take different turns tomorrow. However, that doesn’t mean scant attention is being paid to some of the event’s side highlights. The Riyadh Season Card will host a stream of big names in the commentary box. Chris Mannix, Shawn Porter, Kate Abdo, and Sergio Maura will be busy sharing their views on the live broadcast. So who’s going to keep track on social media? It seems like DAZN Boxing has an answer: Emily Austin.

The Brooklyn-born social media influencer and independent broadcaster will be covering the show, providing content for the over-the-top sports streaming giant. Apart from the Crawford-Madrimov bout, the heavy-duty card features two more title clashes. Not to mention a few other exciting fights, including the much-anticipated ring return of former heavyweight champion Andy Ruiz Jr.

How Emily Austin Made Her Mark: A Look at Her Career Trajectory and Achievements

Emily Austin celebrated her 23rd birthday on May 24 this year. Though her parents are from Israel, Austin was born and brought up in the United States. While still studying at university, in 2021 Austin commenced her career in sports journalism by speaking with athletes from various disciplines during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Besides having her own Instagram show called ‘Daily Vibes with Emily Austin’, she worked her way through stints at ‘MTV’ and other sports-related publications such as ‘Sports Illustrated’. Two years later, Emily Austin launched a podcast dedicated to the NBA. Called ‘The Hoop Chat w/ Emily Austin,’ it featured a slew of big names from the sport.

She seems to have done some reporting on boxing earlier. Nevertheless, she reportedly joined DAZN officially this year with the Ryan GarciaDevin Haney fight. Her Instagram account, where over 2 million fans follow her, features some of the interviews she did with Garcia and Haney. Then another post shows her talking to Jaron Ennis and Skye Nicolson as well.

In the sport light: Covering Boxing’s Grand Event

According to available sources, Emily Austin’s role primarily revolves around managing the social media coverage for the event. When the live broadcast follows, the DAZN might feature her content. The multi-talented personality, it seems, also has her hands in the world of entrepreneurship. Reportedly, she owns ‘People’s Beauty,’ a company selling skincare products.

Outside of her role as a broadcaster and social media influencer, Emily Austin has also worked as a model. She was one of the judges for the 2022 New Orleans ‘Miss Universe’ contest. It looks like the young journalist is equally adept with pen as well. Some of her publications, it seems, have appeared in ‘Newsweek’ as well.

Fans can definitely look forward to some engaging content that will hook them to one of the most anticipated boxing events of the year.
