Following the comeback of the American heavyweight Deontay Wilder, this Saturday with a knockout win over Robert Helenius in the first round, the President of WBC confirmed an eliminator fight between Wilder and Andy Ruiz Jr. for the WBC heavyweight title. With this victory over Helenius, Wilder now stands 43-2-1. Ahead of Wilder’s return to the ring, in September, Andy Ruiz Jr. made his comeback with a win over Luis Ortiz.

After Mauricio Sulaimán, President of World Boxing Council, confirmed the eliminator between Andy Ruiz Jr. and Deontay Wilder, former opponent, Ortiz discouraged Ruiz. Ortiz, who fought Andy Ruiz this September, said, “It will kill Andy Ruiz when they both fight. Ruiz needs to give me a rematch. Give me the rematch, Andy.”

While Ruiz Jr. stands 6’2″ tall, ‘The Bronze Bomber’ stands 6’7″ tall while fighting. Wilder exceeds Ruiz Jr. by 22cm when it comes to the reach. With this information in mind, a user said, “Andy gotta get close that means he going to feel the same sh*t that Robert Helenius did.”
