Boxing’s favorite ‘Problem Child,’ Jake Paul, has been on a relentless quest for the perfect bout. He is currently scheduled to face Hasim Rahman Jr. on August 6, 2022. Meanwhile, Paul recently opened up about his fight with Rahman being in jeopardy and about a potential bout with Nate Diaz.

Paul was in an interview with Ariel Helwani, who is the host of The MMA Hour. In conversation, Helwani asked Paul about Nate Diaz’s delayed retirement and the possibility of a bout between the duo. Paul responded by hinting that Diaz is hesitant to fight him. He said, “I’m hoping it you know, because none of these guys really want to fight me is what I’m coming to find out.”

Moreover, he also revealed that Hasim Rahman Jr. is trying to renegotiate the terms of their fight. Paul said, “Some exclusive news for you, Ariel. Hasim Rahman Jr. actually right now, is trying to renegotiate his contract.”

Paul mentioned that Rahman Jr. had signed a contract the week prior for ten times more than he ever made from any of his bouts. He further added, “And now, boom, fast forward one week, he’s trying to renegotiate. He’s trying to suck more money out of the fight. He’s trying anything he can to claw and make more money.”

He also believed that Rahman Jr. was actually scared to fight him.

Is the Jake Paul vs Hasim Rahman Jr. bout in jeopardy?

Jake Paul also expressed concerns about the bout not taking place. In fact, he stated that he would not be paying Rahman Jr. more money, which might result in him backing out.

Helwani further asked Paul if he was worried about Rahman Jr. not showing up for the presser. In response, Paul answered in the affirmative. Moreover, Paul also added that Rahman Jr’s team has been threatening him about the same.

Hasim Rahman Jr. responds to Paul’s claims

Hasim Rahman Jr. was quick to respond to Paul’s statements. In fact, he took to a series of tweets to clarify himself.

Rahman Jr. called Paul out for lying. He stated that he was ready to fight on August 6 and that money was never a problem.

He further went on to share a balance sheet. Moreover, he revealed that his promoter and the Honig family were ready to bet half a million dollars on him.
