The doors for the Olympics might be shut for Manny Pacquiao, but that has not deterred the fighter from furthering his boxing skills. Three years into retirement, the fighter stands at the brink of his career’s resurgence. Is he equipped enough to manage this much-awaited upheaval? A video on social media answers the question.

At the age of 45, ‘PacMan’ wished to enter this year’s Paris Olympics in a bid to bring gold to his country. However, the International Olympic Committee upheld its traditional stance on the age limit, refusing his special request. While that ship may have sailed for the Filipino native, two sensational undertakings are still very much present for him. One is the pre-decided, Buakaw Banchamek fight. The other? Against his friend and former sparring partner, Amir Khan. To overcome these daunting challenges, the fighter remains ready. Or, so the fans think in his latest Instagram post.

On his Instagram, the former welterweight champion uploaded a video from his training camp. In it, the 62-8 record holder can be seen gliding through the training session at his gym. All smiles, gleaming, jumping, and rapid swipes at the speed bag. His passion for the sport and excitement were powering him through.

Earlier today, reports picked momentum that former super-lightweight, Amir Khan would make his comeback to the ring against Pacquiao. To The Sun, the English fighter suggested a Saudi Arabia fight between them. “I mean I am training a little bit here and there but the thing is the only man that can make that fight happen is Turki Alalshikh.” “I think Turki Alalshikh can make that fight happen between me and Manny Pacquiao,” he added.

On the other hand, come April 20, in Thailand, the eight-division champion will undertake an exhibition bout against Muay Thai fame, Buakaw Banchamek. This comes 3 years after Pacquiao hung his gloves in 2021 after his on-points loss to Yordenis Ugas. 

Earlier, in a Saitama, Japan event, Pacquiao also hinted at a rematch with his former opponent, Floyd Mayweather, under the Japanese banner, Rizin. While he just hinted at it, the former maintained a poised neutrality over it. In 2015, the formidable opponent gave Pacquiao one of his biggest losses.

Amidst these developments, his workout video has garnered much attention from his fan base.

“The Greatest ever!”

With a bonafide fighter like Manny Pacquiao, the boxing realm bows in respect, contended one fan: “The greatest ever! Salute Manny.”

Another fan hoped the golden days of PacMan could be back. His 30s. At this point, he was fighting the likes of Oscar De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton, and Shane Mosley, winning all of them, with much finesse. They wrote, “⁠I wish he was 30 again.”

It’s not just this fan that loves the Filipino legend. It’s also their close friends. They wrote, “⁠All my homies love pacquio.”

If the Mayweather rematch were to happen, who would win that? A fan predicted the results based on this video: “Mayweather bout to do you bad again.”

Could Manny Pacquiao be considered the King of boxing? Yes, declared a fan. They wrote, “King boxing.”
