The fight between Vasyl Lomachenko and Devin Haney has sparked a debate that has split the boxing world. Although Haney managed to defeat ‘Loma’ via a unanimous decision, public opinion is not so clear on the result. While some agree with the judge’s result, others hail Lomachenko to have been “robbed”. However, even among the other pros, the consensus has been tipping in favor of Lomachenko.

This debate was only further fueled as a new video surfaced on Reddit. The video shared boxing legend Julio César Chávez‘s thoughts on the fight’s result. The video was in favor of Devin Haney as it showed him landing several shots directly on ‘Loma’s’ face. It also showed ‘Loma’ receiving some brutal body shots. Meanwhile, Mexican music played in the background, and it also shared Haney’s pictures with his belts. However, as one fan pointed out, “Assuming those 4 punches are meant to convince someone he really won”. While his comment is in favor of ‘Loma’, it really begs the question – Can just a compilation of Haney landing punches represent the whole fight?

Devin Haney fired back at ‘Loma’ after being fined

Lomachenko’s manager Egis Klimas shared the disappointment he felt with the result during the post-fight press conference. He shared that he will be appealing the decision, which he did. However, he didn’t stop there, he even sent emails to WBC, WBA, WBO, and IBF. He asked them to put ‘Loma’ as mandatory for Haney. However, Haney has already been punished as he was recently fined around 10 percent of his paycheck for the fight.

This fine came because prior to the fight, Haney had violently pushed ‘Loma’ during their weigh-ins. Moreover, even after immense criticism, he did not relent, as he even doubled down on his actions. At the time, he claimed that it was just the beginning. However, this move has cost him a lot of money. And Haney is not happy with the fine, to say the least.
