Amidst George Warren pursuing a potential Anthony Joshua vs. Tyson Fury fight, Frank Warren revealed if ‘The Gypsy King’ would at all face Oleksandr Usyk by the end of 2023. In this context, while Warren emphasized the need for a written offer, he addressed Fury not being able to wait till December. After Oleksandr Usyk defeated Anthony Joshua in their rematch, Fury returned and fought Derek Chisora in a trilogy. ‘The Gypsy King’ now needs to defend his WBC heavyweight title before it is a year since his last fight.

Given the scenarios, should fans be hopeful about Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk in December? If December is too late, when shall Fury return to the ring? And if not Usyk, who will ‘The Gypsy King’ face? In his latest conversation with iFL TV, promoter Frank Warren answered the mentioned questions for the fans.

While speaking with iFL TV, Frank Warren disclosed that they never received “a written offer” from “the Saudis” regarding the rumored Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk bout in December. Despite “a lot of conversations” and the promise of an offer, Warren stated, “We’ve not had it yet. Maybe, they’ve not got a clearance yet to put it on. I had no idea. But you can’t expect Tyson to be sitting around waiting. Because by December he would be out of the ring for a year,” Warren coherently added. In addition, the English promoter and the co-owner of Queensberry Promotions announced that they desperately pursued Anthony Joshua. He said, “We have tried desperately to make a fight and AJ’s fighting in August.” While Joshua fights in August and George Warren looks for an ‘AJ’ vs. Fury fight with the “same terms as for December,” Frank Warren declared Fury will fight in September 2023.  “Tyson Fury will fight in September. He will fight here in the UK,” he added.
