Anthony Joshua is preparing to make his comeback worthwhile, especially after two consecutive losses against Oleksandr Usyk. His last two fights were against Usyk, and after losing twice to the same opponent, many felt that Joshua doesn’t have that spark anymore. But Joshua is ready to take up the challenge and seems quite determined to prove his doubters wrong. Anthony Joshua is scheduled to step inside the ring against Jermaine Franklin on April 1st of this year. And the fans had a lot of things to say about his new training picture that he’d posted on his Twitter.

After his second fight with Usyk, Joshua made a melodramatic speech inside the ring and it was apparent that he felt overwhelmed by his defeat as he couldn’t believe the decision and was really discouraged. He even apologized for his actions later in the post-fight press conference. Many fans do not want him to be discouraged, instead, they want him to bring back the real ‘AJ’. Even Mike Tyson recently sent a heartful message to Joshua for not getting discouraged.

Nevertheless, in the training picture, Anthony Joshua can be seen holding an axe in front of the tree. He’s working on strength and conditioning. He even tagged DAZN Boxing in his tweet, captioning it, “Back to basics“. To send a message out to the world that he’s preparing for the fight with all his might and hard work.

But still, some fans were not happy with the picture, as they stated that he needs to concentrate more on his boxing skills, rather than his muscles. As this wouldn’t really help in a boxing match, more so against an opponent of Franklin’s caliber. Simultaneously, it doesn’t need to be said that Joshua is a great fighter, and he’s obviously ready to take it all in and prove his doubters wrong on the night of April Fools’ Day.

Fans react to the new training photo of ‘AJ’

The fans joked around with Joshua’s picture as according to them it had no relation to boxing training. And the photo drew some hilarious reactions. Let’s look at some of them.

One fan, BealestreetTN, stated while laughing that an axe wouldn’t do any good inside the ring, as you can’t use an axe in boxing.

Another fan, SpennyIan, asked humorously whether trees he’s going to cut will be fighting back or not. Because then it doesn’t make sense to use the axe for boxing training.

One of the fans, castaneda_alain, genuinely gave a suggestion to Joshua that he’s already got an amazing herculean body. Now he should put some effort into his boxing skills and train in that direction.

Now not all the fans were making jokes about Joshua training with an axe. There were also some fans who want to see ‘AJ’ make an iconic comeback on April 1 against Jermaine Franklin.

A fan, DaniJ94, motivated Anthony Joshua for a tremendous comeback.

@glovesoffboxing demanded that he wants to see ‘AJ’ win by a knockout in his next fight.
