Only a month to go, and the boxing world will get to witness one of the biggest fights in history at T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas. Terence Crawford and Errol Spence Jr are ready to throw punches against each other. It’s going to be an enthralling contest between the best welterweight boxers of the modern era. The fight has been in the making for four years now, and finally, the world will know the result of the Spence vs Crawford main event. Both fighters will be duking it out in the ring to claim the undisputed status in the welterweight division.

The stakes are high for both fighters, as this will mark the legacy for both of them in the coming future. And a lot of big names in the sport, are putting out their predictions regarding this fight. From Evander Holyfield to Oscar De La Hoya, everyone in the boxing community is doling out their opinions on the fight. Although Holyfield kept it neutral, De La Hoya went all out calling Crawford a better boxer than Spence.

Oscar De La Hoya gives his verdict for the upcoming Spence-Crawford fight 

Oscar De La Hoya talked to FightHub TV, about his predictions for Spence-Crawford. Well, De La Hoya has stated that Crawford would be winning in a fight against Spence. Well now that their fight is official, the reporter asked about his opinion again.

De La Hoya replied, “It hasn’t changed because they haven’t fought since I picked Crawford to win. I don’t think anything has changed except they’re getting older.” He believes that Crawford has better boxing skills and IQ, and he’ll come forth victorious, come July 29th. He said, “I mean you can see it, you don’t have to be a genius to know who’s the better boxer.

Now he doesn’t mean Spence is not a great fighter, he believes Spence is excellent but stated, “But in my humble opinion, Crawford has the better ability. He has the better arsenal inside the ring.

Well, Errol Spence Jr has worked with Golden Boy Promotions, and in one of the interviews, De La Hoya has also revealed one weakness that may prove to be the reason for his downfall on July 29th.

De La Hoya thinks Spence is too “one-dimensional”

At the beginning of Spence’s career, his fights were being promoted by the Golden Boy Promotions. Later, when he became the Welterweight title holder, he was  offered a deal from De La Hoya which he refused to sign in 2017. As his aspirations were to launch his own promotional banner.

De La Hoya has worked with Spence before. So he said in his interview with FightHype, “[Errol Spence Jr’s] one-dimensional style obviously has been working for him till this day, but I think that Crawford can maybe dissect him, slowly but surely“.

Then he further added that Crawford is a more versatile fighter than Spence, and has a lot of skills up his sleeves. So he may struggle against ‘Bud’ a little bit.
