“Upset!” That’s the headline that dominated Riyadh’s ‘Day of Reckoning’ clash in regard to one particular match. In a shocking defeat, Deontay Wilder conceded to Joseph Parker’s brilliant defense as the judges announced a unanimous decision in favor of the latter. While he accepted his defeat and promised to move on from it, the British fighter, Frazer Clarke has questioned the lack of remorse on Wilder’s part.
It was rather an easy glide to victory for Parker. The Kiwi fighter stood his ground every time the Alabama knockout expert came with his world-renowned right hand. The punches that once fazed the likes of Tyson Fury and Gerald Washington went in vain. As the fight inched toward its closure, it was clear that Parker had done enough to give Wilder his career’s third loss. While one thought that Wilder would be licking his wound, the fighter, in turn, seemed unperturbed by the loss. This prompted the 2020 Summer Olympics boxing champion, Frazer Clarke, among others to question if the fighter even cared anymore.

Frazer Clarke Probes Deontay Wilder’s Conscience
Taking to his X, Clarke, an 8-time undefeated fighter, questioned the motivation of fighters like Wilder. He questioned how fighters these days remain unfazed by defeats and show no accountability. “Are fighters not bothered anymore because they know they are getting so much money… I didnt even see any sadness in wilder like he doesn’t care !” remarked the British Olympian.
Are fighters not bothered anymore because they know they are getting so much money 🥲 I didnt even see any sadness in wilder like he doesn’t care ! I know prize fighter fight for money but you have to feel it in your heart !!

After being handsomely paid for such lucrative fights, Clarke believes that their love for boxing is no longer there and they hardly feel bad about their loss. He added, “ I know prize fighter fight for money but you have to feel it in your heart !!”
For Deontay Wilder, his fight against Parker came with massive stakes. It was his first fight following his victory over Robert Helenius in October, last year. While Frazer sought to invoke a fighter’s conscience in Wilder, the latter prioritized other things in his life.

Bronze Bomber speaks about what went wrong against Parker
When a reporter quizzed him if his inactivity contributed to the defeat, Wilder rubbed it off the cuff. He responded, “Could have, but we’re not going to base it off of that.” Wilder said, “We did what we did and we move on to the next. You know what I mean? We live to see another day and that’s what it’s all about.”
What now? His AJ clash is mostly off, and there is no inkling of his next fight and its whereabouts. So, he finds his route back home. He added, “And I’m just ready to go home to my children, you know what I mean? And love all over them.”

The 38-year-old might be expected to hang his gloves soon now, but he says, “I’m a warrior, so I’ll be back soon. And if not, then it’s been an enjoyment.” Is this the end of Wilder’s run in the boxing ring that once echoed with his loud punches? What do you think about Frazer’s comments?
